The week brief that was set was to create an answer to the question of "how to". We had to generate something which would help a student who is new to Leeds to work hard and produce work. We were then placed into groups and were told to produce an solution for this problem, my group decided the best scenario was to create an anti freshers pack which we named "balance". The three posters above were three motivational posters which were to help you find the "balance" between work and play, these were later amended to suit the answer to the brief that you will find above.

These are the work sheets that we did in the first session which i have taken images off as they represent the thought process that we went through to get into the brief that we had a week to complete.

More images that i have taken of the work sheets which we have created, these are the basis of what our project was based on and these can show the thought process that we went through to reach the end result.

The letter "x" is towards the end of the alphabet and i wanted them to all start fitting in the box shapes to show that my end result always meets the grade and can be done correctly. i think that this shows it well but still keeps along the idea that i sometimes want to be hard to read. i created this simply by cutting the letter x out of a piece of card and them laying it over the same style of card and then cutting it to the correct dimensions.
The letter "b" has a style to it which i think could work rather well in future projects as well if the brief will allow it. i have filled the counter in the b and this has give me the message that i like to come across as a bold person which can be seen easily. This is one of my favorite letters which i created and defiantly is a key strong point to my alphabet.

This is the letter "e" which in my alphabet represented the way in which i sometimes like to standout from the crowd, this also followed the sequence of letter show the corner has been cut off and the letter still lays outside of the box.

This is the letter "K" from my alphabet. It is a very subtle finish so I have photographed it in a way which shows the white on white finish in the correct light. It was created using white spray paint and fixative, this then gives an image quality that can only be seen when the light shines onto it from the correct direction.

This is just another view of my summer brief which gives a more in depth look into what I have created, and shows more of the detail in my letters. All of the letters work together as a set and this answers the brief that was set for me.

Summer Brief

This is the brief that was given to us over the summer, and this is my interpretation of it. All the letters had to work in a sequence with one another and describe the way that i saw myself through interpretation of typography. I wanted to try and keep everything simple  so i stuck to a monotone theme through-out but i have  one image which works on its own and the description of that is above near the letter.

All the corners of the 300gsm paper was cut cut off to show that i can manage to cut corners on the work and also the letters were positioned so that i could show how i can work outside of the box but the last few letters all fit inside of it to show my final results always meet the end result.
