In Design DPS Partner Layout.

I first started by making loads of different questions after getting the really silly things thats sadie said in day to day life, this then helped me get a nice list of things together so you would then be able to read as if sadie was actually really stupid, this makes her come across as something she is not and this will add to the comedy factor which i was trying to achieve.

I then quickly threw together a quick layout of what i wanted the final outcome to look like, i placed in place holder text so you could then get a representation of what was actually going on, this all then makes sense when i create my next level design of work, the layout should look a lot stronger in the final designs. although i am a fan of what has already happened on this design.

I will now start to create the actual final design.

This is the start, which i have followed of the basis that i have already created for the last design but i think that the way in which this is being made makes the most sense. The green dot at the top then makes sense about the way in which it will be made, the grid system in this design looks like it works rather well although i think that the text is a little to confusing to be simple and created under this program, maybe i should make this less confusing.

Here i have now added the images and the text to the right needs a lot of work on it cause it wont work with this style of design, it looks to rushed and not like the standard which i want to achieve. Although the layout on the left is basically how i want it to look, i may have to edit it so that it can be placed into the correct position easier.

This is then the next stage of what needed to be created for the final design of everything. i added the quotations to the top as i think that it added a whole new design concept to the drawing board. The first image was how i tried to place the text into a single column and then hand that in, however this looked too squashed up and didn't fit the agenda right enough. i then changed it to the two split columns with the text aligned opposite each other so that the solid backs are to each other.

The quote has then had the speech marks placed under the text and then dropped back in opacity, this gives it a little more graphic design edge factor, this then makes the text to the right hand side read a lot better and give it the effect of drawing people in to want to read it.

This above is the final design, this is after i have placed the page numbers on the side, the opacity has been dropped back to 50% on all of the text which plays no major part in any of them and the images have all been sat correctly. This for me works well, and once i have printed this onto ancient white stock so that it doesnt look as boring then it will work rather nicely i believe.

Fun Shop Workshop with John.

This is the group which we where put into and then had to create this fun day where anything was possible. Our group consisted of:

Mitch
Flanagan
Mooney
Liam
Will
Charlotte
Niall
Oli
Liv
Steph
Marty

We thought that it would be best to break up into smaller groups so that you would be able to get the most research created for the design process so we could get a lot of different ideas jotted down. I think this worked to a certain degree although more could have been created so that we had more possibilities for the outcomes.

We then gathered back as a group and wrote down the ideas which we came up with in that short period of time.

This then lead to the creation of many ideas which we all had floating around. After looking at all of this stlye of work, we came up with some really out there ideas, but after talking with John he told us never to worry about the scale of the project for this style of work he has us doing, he just wanted us to get our ideas out there and see what we could all come up with as a concept.

Research for Speaking from Experience.

Here is the list of all the research which i gathered for speaking from experience. This is the basis of my project and what ill base it all on.

This is the map which i will create work onto, i printed these off and went and asked around at the best places for each section such as the best pub the best take away and other such things like this, this is how i created the best ways to be able to get it all sorted for this design outcome. The map will be a massive part for the front of what i want creating for this final design.

How many people live at Liberty Park.

28

How many people live at Royal Park.

16

How many people live at I.Q

these are some of the figures which i crunched when i was looking into how many people lived at each area, the liberty park crew where the biggest amount of people living in a certain area, this map could also be created for the people who live in Opal 1 and other places such as this aswell, this could be a rather nice thing to have such a large area covered by the map.

These are the maps which i have gathered the information on where each of the areas are around leeds, these are the best places for each of the specific choices which have been made, these are what most of the people agreed on and how you have decided to work with each of these. The colour selection then makes it a lot easier to see where and then mark up onto the top map which will be a lot easier to make sense of and then read on the hot dog fold.

These are then just some shots of the work sheets which i have created with general notes and scribbles on, these are not very readable as they are just general notes for my use to try and remind me of certain parts and aspects of what i need and want to achieve. However i though they best be blogged so they can be seen that i have gone through the correct procedure.

Feedback From Crit.

This is the feedback i got form the crit, although i think its good feedback they picked up on the same mistakes which i did and i will adjust these accordingly to meet the brief.

FMP Progress Crit.

Problem Analysis - your concept is a bit random there are a lot of ideas but too much is going on. You should maybe try to focus on one theme rather than several in your final outcome and final solution.

Contextual Understanding - You choose a good and relevant method of delivery but the content is too random again, could this have been produced through a series of books to maybe have worked a little stronger. Apart from that problem i think a strong design choice and works nicely.

Research - Research is good, you can see you have researched a lot of primary stuff because of the context and also about the maps otherwise none of this would make any sense.

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS - Could have focused more on budgeting, maybe done something more and played with the shock side of how much students spend to then make them realise what is happening.

My Thoughts

i am really happy with the feedback which i have received although i think there could have been more work created for what im wanting to achieve, i always want to try and achieve more so for the hand in i will create more work and see what is possible to be able to get done for it to try and boost my outcome and get the grades which i am wanting to bump myself up that little further.

Final Outcome Colour Change.

These are all three of the final outcomes together and i think that this works rather nicely together although i don't think that it will be very strong with the orange. the previous post proved this on all three of the stocks, i think that if i change the colour it will make it much stronger.

This here is where i have changed the colour of the text to blue and i think it now works a lot stronger to what i wanted it to be, although i think on the white it will be a a lot stronger and more legible for a final outcome than any of the other colours that i have already done.

I will now post the finals above so you can get a sense of how they look once i have some nice images taken of each of these sections.

Images of Finals Printed. (colour check)

These are the final images which i have taken when i have printed off what i need to for the final design of my hot dog folds, i have left two of the booklets open so you can see both sides of them in the crit then folded the other uo so that you can understand what is going on and how it should look for the final design. Although it all looks well there are a few changes which i would like to make for the final design, these will come in time and be changed and printed for hand in.

There are a few close ups here and a few long shots so you can really get a sense of what you can and what is going on.

Final Outcome Phase One.

Back cover of the final outcome, this can be very simple but works well as the layout is strong enough to carry the design.

This is the front and there will be three created for each of these designs, although they will be different and will work separately but all the backs will be the same, the front will have a few changes made to it so that you can see that each of them work for there own area.

This is a screenshot where they are both played together so that you can see how they work with each other and that they will always be the stronger the set when printed double sided. Although i think that i need to be able to make the sense of what i am doing when i need to produce the final outcome, however when printed onto my final outcomes i don't think the orange will come up very clear. we will see when i  print then i will upload pictures to here so all you haters can see aswell.

Budget Section Changed to Interactive.

This section has now been changed so that its more interactive and you can play around with it more, i thought that a grid to say what you should spend, what your most likely going to spend to try and shock students into what is going on and then the section which you can fill in here so you can see where you can save money.

This is where i started to fill it in, but still a long way to go with the whole outcome and completing things.

This is where i have then added the amounts into both columns, this is like i said above so that you can see the correct amounts you should be spending. the guides are there to make sure everything stays in line and doesnt stray to far away from what i am wanting.

Above is where it looks like without the guide lines on there and then below is the whole of the back page and how it all looks together, although i think that when its printed there may be a few changes which may need to be changed and how we can produce this all together.
