Test Samples of Video from Phone and Final Cut Express
This is the first standard video which i have created, the image is a clear normal shot used straight from my camera phone, the idea will be based around this and this will be the quality of the end few frames in my movie clip.
This is the second short video that i took, this one is in greyscale, this changes how you look at the outlook of the video and how it appears all together. On the final video i would like to be able to create a more harsh effect, i think i can achieve this through the process of Final Cut Express. the outcome would need to be created for monday dinner time so i am under pressure to create this on time.
This is the Sepia effect. This effect may not be used in my final outcome as it doesn't really play a part in the development of the Film genre, however i think it could link into the Kinemacolor section as its only one tint which then would still show the development of the film genre.
This is a version which i will not be using in the final outcome of everything, the way to which it has been used makes it to out there for it to work correctly. The solorized effect just makes it for a more futuristic effect. I think that it could work if it was not as glossy effect and more of a single toned style again this could have been used for the Kinemacolor style of work, but i think the sepia would work better overall for that style.

Videos Which I Created In Final Cut Express.
These are the two short movies which i made today, they relate to the project i am doing as i am going to express the journey which i am choosing to do, the way they are blurred and jerky i think adds to the effect and the overall outcome of what i am wanting to achieve overall to make it appear more of a movie scene, i added colour halfway through which then lead me onto my idea which i am going to produce further, the evolution of how film has changed over the years whilst creating a educational video on my journey to university each day. The way in which i have made these will then produce into an even deeper meaning and it would be nice to have this completed for monday around eleven o'clock as it could then be shown in the cafe area as this would show its distribution overall.
Final Cut Express Software Tutorial.
Go into user work and create a new folder
Open Final Cut Express HD
Setup final cut project, according to a specific specification
Select DV-PAL (digital video)
Select Final Cut Express, then click system settings
Change the settings with the ticks next to them and then also chance the waveform , thumbnail and autosave settings to the folder that you want the work to be saved into.
File save project before you even do anything. This gets you into a good habit and can save losing work.
The time bar above the video tracks is split into different time segments, this consist of
00:00:00:00 (hours : minutes : seconds : frames)
Now you can import your images
File > Import > Folder
Now your images should have been imported and you can see the images if you choose the folder in the browser window in the top left area of the screen.
Drag your first image into the section to which you want it to be placed in the video.
Theres so many possibilities, as you can now order your sequence about more, you can rearrange the images so you could have a ten second gap between all the images and then later in the film you have no second gaps.
Now to change the duration of each of the images in our time bar.
you can choose to add each image individually or you can add all the images by dragging the folder down onto the time bar
to change the duration select all the images and then press control and click on one of the images, you can then change the duration of all of the images.
You can then change the rate of each of the frames. the less frames per second the faster the video will be and if you have enough images then it will create a strong clean video.
If you have some of the red section at the end you can then go to sequence, Render, Both. This will then get rid of the red section at the end of a video and will create a perfectly smooth outcome.
Then go to File > Export > Quick time conversion > Edit the settings the same as Quick Time.
Your Video file should be complete and ready to watch in your folder.

How to Import Sound.
Sound is imported the same way as you would with image, although you need to have converted the format of the music over to AIFF, the best way to do this would be to take the file format onto Quick Time 7 and then resave it so that it turns into the AIFF format which you need.

Primary
question i asked - Hey, please can you answer this question for my university project... What are your feelings or thoughts about the modern day Films/Movies ? and how many do you watch each week on average ?
dont really watch films..
I pretty much only watch horror films, and i tend to prefer the older ones, as they rely too heavily on CGI these days, and replace tension with jumpy moments, and i probably watch like.. atleast 5 a week
well for thoughts.... theres a pretty wide range of films out so theres a lot to think lol i suppose there seems to be a new gimicky trend for 3d films?
and maybe like 1 or 2 a week
there alright, averages bout 3 a week
went to see the black swan last night, not what i expected but good
All movies effect us differently, all touching a different emotion in each film
modern day films r total shit and i watch about 7 films a week :):)
it depends on the week. sometimes i can watch about 3? others none. i used to go to the cinema alot at home. but dont really go anymore. i love films :):) but not the crappy romance ones. i like thrillers ones with lots and lots of plot.
i watch about 4 films a week
feelings and thoughts, i feel they're getting a bit too high budget and actors demand too much money, however talented they are
erm.... id say i think they are realistic. . catch peoples emotions i suppose. i dno.. and id say like one a week!
i prefer film4 productions with up and coming british/europena actors
