Typography Session 1 - Communication Through Type

Classification:

Linotype

the ways that you could describe all type faces would be as follows

old face
transitional
modern face
slab serif
sans serif
decorative and display
script and bush
black letter and broken

Task 1:

for the first task we had to use only the first letter of our names and create a repeat pattern to fill a page, the above was our attempt at this.

This is then the second attempt that i did after hearing how it can work better, this one was created using my second name but using this in a capital form and then i repeated it so i can then get the abpve

Task for Next Week.

My Typeface: Gill Sans Light

Produce a landscape A4 page which will be an analysis of a type face, select a type face, save as a pdf page and and then hand this in next week.

Also on this sheet there should be:
Name of Font
Description of construction
Description of key characteristics
Key Letter for identification

The font that i have has to be compared to Helvetica
