Stock Options and Print Finishing...

This is another print session which we are able to see has worked rather well due to my responses which are posted on the context blog showing how i understand what Lorenzo has been talking about and i have answered his task accordingly.

Here are some of the notes from the session which he delivered...

Duotone
this is a two tone or two spot colour process which you may be able to see a third colour come through on the final print. This will be the stock colour, this is a crafty way to make things cheaper so that you are able to get three colours by using the right stock accordingly.

Tri-Chromatic
Screen printing because it holds its opacity and can also create some really strong effects.

Duo
Two tonal layers but decided before print because it needs to be printed fresh on its own, this can then make the part which you have printed more prominent and more demanding

Two Spot Colour
Simply two colours which have been printed to just make the colour which are there, these are easy to see and can easily be distinguished between the two.

The difference between spot colour and duo tones.

Spot Colour is a specific colour made for a purpose, this is normally created through the pantone swatch book.
Duo is created from a mix of two colour, normally from the CMYK range.
